Announced at Veeam ON 2020, Veeam Backup for Office 365 Version 5 is now available. It offers the advantage of eliminating the risk of losing access and control of Office 365 data. Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business and Microsoft Teams are now protected. With this new version, it is easier to restore documents and files present in Teams. Indeed Veeam has implemented a new explorer for Teams.

Create backup

From the Veeam, select Organizations and click on Backup.

Enter Name and click on Next. You can enter description if you want.

Click on Add for select Teams.

Select the desired Teams and click on OK.

We can add other object (users, sharepoint, …) and click on Next.

Select Backup Proxy and Backup repository.

Configure Scheduling and click on Create. Backup has been created. Start the backup job.

Restore Document on Teams

Backup has been configured and executed. My Teams has backed up the same applies to the tchat.

Right click on the job and select Explorer Latest Teams State. You can select an older state with Explore Teams point-in-time state option.

Expand Teams and select the desired channel. Click on Files then click on Restore File.

Specify the restore options and click on Restore.

Restore Channel

You can restore one channel of your Team. From Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Teams, select the desired channel and click on Restore Channel.

Select the desired restore options and click on Restore.
