Intune contains a large number of device settings configurable in a strategy. It’s possible to apply with :
- System center Configuration Manager 2012 SP1
- System center Configuration Manager 2012 SP2
- System center Configuration Manager 2012 R2
- System center Configuration Manager 2012 R2 SP1
For example, you can configure :
- Email Management
- Encryption, …
Each of them are compatible according to the platform. For example the parameter vocal Assistant is configurable only for IOS. Microsoft makes available on the technet settings by platform compatibility.
So it’s easier to create policies by having this compatibility matrix. If you use Intune in SAAS mode, it is easier to create a strategy by platform (ios, Windows phone,…) because the required system minimum is indicated. In addition when creating a policy, it is necessary to choose the platform then the policy type (IOS – political configuration,…). However this documentation can serve to the modelling of strategies before putting into production.
The list of Intune parameters may be supplemented by OMA-URI for Windows Equipment (Windows phone, Windows 10,…). For other Platform (IOS and Android), you can use custom Policy.
The OMA-URI parameters (Open Mobile Alliance Uniform Resource Identifier) can be deployed through the Windows client configuration policy. This allows to control the functionality of devices Windows Phone 8.1, Windows 10, … It’s standard settings which are used by many manufacturers of mobile devices to control the functionality of devices. This feature allows you to deploy the settings which are not configurable with a strategy Intune. It is therefore possible to easily extend configuration policies. For Windows 10, you can use this documentation
OMA-URI Windows 10.
With this parameter, you allow or not Wifi, Telemetry, Bluetooth, Cortana and a lot of other parameter of Windows 10. It’s more easy to manage Windows 10 computer.
